Assalamualaikum wbt
Ladies, guess what, today its all about that precious tiara crown on your head! Long, short, curly, wavy, straight, black, brown, thick, thin, everything works fine as long as they are at their best state : shiney, nicely flowy, silk smooth, smells like a rosy garden and balancely mosturized! Up until today, if you don't get any compliment about how beautiful your hair is, then sorry but not sorry, you should know that something must be wrong and surely the good news, there is always room for improvement. After all, my mother always tells me, "one is not born a women, one learns to become one"! oh yeah it hits me right on the face! ahaks, finished ranting, now lets get started already, shall we?!
It wasn't until i decided to change my basic hair care regime, in particular, reducing the washing days from every second day to every third or fourth day(of course depending on the season, activities that i do and other unclassified things that happened),that i now get compliment from girls about my hair quite often. Alhamdulillah i thanked Allah for the knowledge He made it came to me(it was through my mother, she said i was washing my hair too often), so in showing my gratefulness to His blessing, i would happily love to share with every eve(hawa) in this world. And truely, for everything you give, Allah will give you 10 back, so never be a kiasu okey!:)
So here is an excellent complete 9 mins video, she did a great scientific research on trichology and presented in a very compact and simple way, please listen carefully k!

And after watching this video you still feel like wanting to add on with the classic natural treatment, just grab the phone already and call "mom", i believe she will give u either of these two responses :
- She will patiently start to list all the local cultural oils she knew about, answers could vary from olive oil, lavender extract, argan oil to coconut oil depending on the geographical and cultural diversity that we are rich with in this big world. That is why i am not the one to talk about this. *Good tips though, you can do this traditional hair care regime at your home to spend some quality time with your mom sometimes, or maybe consider switching from popcorn+movie with hair oil massage+movie with les girlfriends, i am so into promoting the healthy life style thingy! haha, oh come on, good thing is always good, you can't deny that right!
- She will probably say, babe, just google it already and pm me your research, thanks. *Busy mom. It wouldn't hurt you to buy the organic oil and threat her a lovely hair oil massage once in a blue moon, she will definitely appreciate it! Women, at all age just love to be pampered don't they?
Wait, wait, wait! Let's not make this hair care a meaningless one, thus, its compulsory for us to know and learn about how our beloved perfect man, Prophet Muhammad pbuh, took care of his hair then. Lets!
- Anas ibn Malik reports: “God’s Messenger often applied lotion to his head and frequently combed his beard. He would then cover his head and his robes looked like those of an oil trader.” (Related by Al-Tirmidhi, Al-Bayhaqi and Abu Al-Shaykh.)
- Hadiths related by Abu Al-Shaykh. Ibn Umar reports: “I saw the Prophet using an oil that was not perfumed.” Ibn Abbas says: “The Prophet started on his way to Madinah after he had cleaned and combed his hair and applied a lotion of oil.”
- This one is pretty amusing! Hazrat Abdullah bin Mughaffal (Radiallahu anhu) reports, " Sayyidina Rasulullah (Salla lahu alayhi wa’ale hi wasallam) prohibited the combing of hair, but allowed it to be done occasionally."
Commentary Imam Qaadi Iyaad says that occasionally means after every three days. In Abu Daawud a Hadith has been reported, wherein Rasulullah.pbuh prohibited the combing of the hair daily. The Ulama have written that it is prohibited at such times when there is no necessity for it, otherwise there is no harm in it. The prohibition is karaahate tanzihi. It is especially for the hair that has no dirt in it and does not need grooming. When the hair is dirty, there is no karaahal (i.e. not makruh) in combing the hair daily.
Conclusions-From all these Hadiths we conclude that the Prophet took care of his hair, combing it frequently and applying lotion and perfume as was available to him. He did not stick with a particular hairstyle, thus indicating that there is no particular rule requiring us to follow a certain pattern. People may do what they like with their hair, but they need to observe the standards of propriety in their own communities.
Advantages of covering hair(not only for ladies, because clearly Rasulullah did covered too!)
- Nice hair shouldn't be left to collect all the dust from the street. Precious hair deserves care, love and protection!
- UV will damage your hair too, unfortunately.
- If left exposed, hair will become too dry, its moisture will evaporate and there you go, a broom-like hair by age of 30.
- Covering will save you alot of time for unnecessary endless maintainance, and save you alot of money for unnecessary toxic chemical hair product that will eventually accumulate and enter your system.
- and finally, no distraction playing with hair 24/7, less accidental hairpull, when you are focusing at work! Plus not to annoy people behind you when standing in a queue!
Wallahu 'alam, may Allah grand us understanding and guidance, Ameen.
Writing with logic,
